Food Pantry Assistant

Position Overview: The Pantry Assistant reports to the Program Support Aide/Executive Assistant in the Executive Office. This is a part-time position, 10 hours a week.

Responsibilities:

• Unpacks and stocks food shelves in the Emergency Food Pantry.
• Ensures that food packages contain all the necessary food groups.
• Informs the Supervisor of any damaged food containers in the pantry.
• Discards damaged food containers in accordance with Food bank and HDWC policies and procedures.
• Assists with the distribution of food during pantry hours.
• Inputs data into an Excel spreadsheet.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED (not required).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Fluent in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Computer skills, familiar with Word and Excel.
