The State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology/ CUNY, provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, offering a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency. BEOC welcomes applications for the position of EOC Administrative Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact for BEOC staff and supervisors on HR-related matters.
- Liaise with City Tech HR to submit and follow up on hiring, reappointments, leaves, and separations.
- Assist in gathering, reviewing, and organizing required documentation for HR transactions.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires (e.g., orientation scheduling, internal communication).
- Maintain internal tracking systems for staff credentials, evaluations, and compliance timelines.
- Communicate HR-related updates, reminders, and policy changes to staff as directed by City Tech HR and BEOC management.
- Support the coordination of training sessions and professional development activities.
- Respond to routine staff inquiries or refer them to appropriate City Tech HR contacts.
- Maintain limited confidential personnel records as needed, and assist with data collection for internal reports.
- Monitor deadlines for required HR actions, assist departments in meeting compliance timelines, and ensure documentation is provided to City Tech HR within expected time frames.
- Prepare summary reports or updates for internal use at the direction of the Associate Director of Operations.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Prior experience with personnel documentation and employee recordkeeping is preferred
- Ability to comprehend and effectively communicate office policies and procedures
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, report preparation, and data collection and data entry processes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in managing assigned tasks
- Supports projects, initiatives, and activities within an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).
- Organizes office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information
- Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections
- Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities
- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing
- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department
- May supervise office staff and student workers
- Performs related duties as assigned.
$70,541 - $75,131. Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is implementing salary schedule increases; details will be updated in accordance with the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
