The position is integral within M&T’s Property Preservation team, responsible for managing the conveyance portfolio, identifying curtailment losses, monitoring for reimbursements, reviewing and responding to code violations, and participating in weekly conference calls with vendors.

• Sign off on documents and approve loss sheets for late report submissions.
• Complete curtailment billings submitted to vendor.
• Review and approve hazard claim repairs and investor allowables.
• Participate in weekly conference calls with vendors.
• Oversee Property Preservation mailbox, ensuring timely correspondence response.
• Refer all files to Real Estate Owned (REO) that cannot be conveyed to HUD.
• Approve code violation bids.
• Complete projects related to nonperforming loan sale, due diligence bids for HUD and overdue tasks.
• Manage a conveyance portfolio to meet deadlines, working closely with vendor, obtaining status updates and reducing monetary losses.
• Manage reconveyance portfolio, ensuring timely responses to HUD and responsibility placement, placing property back into conveyance condition timely.
• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with company or regulatory standards and policies.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points, and any issues raised by external regulators.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

This position interacts with internal CAM departments, external third‑party property preservation vendors, and HUD.

• A combined 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ mortgage default and/or property preservation experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented.
• Motivated, team player with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Strong analytical ability and problem‑solving skills.
• Very strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of departmental software and M&T Bank systems.
• 5 years’ mortgage default and/or property preservation experience.
• Prior departmental experience preferred.

Pay range: $22.61 – $37.67 hourly (USD).
