Position Summary

The Development Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the development team, with a primary focus on data management, donor relations, departmental communications, and project coordination. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the development office and helps foster a strong culture of philanthropy across the organization. Through accurate recordkeeping, thoughtful donor engagement, and well-coordinated fundraising activities, the Development Coordinator supports meaningful connections that advance the Lewis JCC's mission and strengthen our community.

Primary Responsibilities:

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer and development team, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations, donor packets, and other departmental documents.
  • Serve as a professional and welcoming point of contact for donors, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Support special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture grounded in community, connection, and philanthropy.

Data Management & Gift Processing

  • Maintain accurate and confidential donor records within the Bloomerang CRM database.
  • Enter and process gifts, pledges, and donor information in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports, lists, and data pulls to support fundraising initiatives and leadership requests.
  • Ensure data integrity and adherence to organizational procedures.

Events & Project Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
  • Track project timelines and support the coordination of development initiatives to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with marketing on project requests for timeliness and accuracy.

Donor Relations & Communications

  • Prepare and send donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and recognition materials.
  • Assist with donor communications, including email outreach, mailings, and event invitations.
  • Support stewardship efforts that deepen donor relationships and reinforce a culture of philanthropy.
Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising environment
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Experience working with donor databases or CRM systems
  • Familiarity with nonprofit development and fundraising practices
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities
  • Customer-service mindset with a donor-centered approach
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

$45,000 - $55,000
