Job Summary:
The technician automotive at James Chevrolet is responsible for performing skilled labor and contractor work in the auto industry. This is a full-time individual contributor role located in Johnstown, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing various automotive issues, as well as ensuring that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $30 to $40 per hour, paid on a biweekly basis. In addition, James Chevrolet offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot automotive issues
- Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Adhere to dealership and manufacturer guidelines and procedures
- Keep accurate records of work performed and time spent on each job
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on repair progress and explaining necessary repairs
- Stay updated on latest automotive technology and industry trends
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
- ASE certifications preferred
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and technology
- Strong communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
