General Automotive Technician

At AAMCO of Amityville, we have been serving our local community for over 35 years. As one of the top automotive centers in Long Island, we are looking for an A or strong B General Repair Diagnostician/Tech who has the skillset to maintain a high level of service for our customers. This role includes very competitive pay, AAMCO training, and the unique opportunity to advance to become a shop foreman.

The center is located on Sunrise Highway with easy access to LIRR and Long Island beaches.

• Inspect, diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems
• Remove and Reinstall Transmission systems.
• Assist other technicians in performing technical activities
• Explain problems discovered during vehicle inspection to service writers and technicians
• Continuously learn new technical information, equipment, tools and repair techniques
• Professionally record findings so that repairs costs are accurately estimated

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working as aGeneral Automotive Technician
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Own professional grade tools to service any general repair need
• Experience Troubleshooting and conducting both mechanical and electrical diagnostics, including drivability testing
• Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
• Existing knowledge of the removal and reinstallation of transmission systems is preferred, but not mandatory
