POSITION TITLE: Automotive Mechanic I
REPORTING TO: Transportation Director
HOURS: Full-time, 8.0 hours per day, 12 months per year

SALARY & BENEFITS
:
Schedule M per CSEA Contract ($51,171.00 starting salary school year rate)).
This is skilled work involving responsibility for the complete overhaul and repair of a variety of automotive equipment and related types of machinery.
Minimum Qualifications- One (1) year of experience as a skilled automotive repair person.
- Thorough knowledge of standard automotive repair methods and of the terminology and tools of difficult repairs to heavy automotive and other mechanical equipment which may include diesel equipment;
- Working knowledge of welding techniques;
- Skill in motor function and dexterity;
- Ability to work from plans and specifications and to follow rough draft sketches and oral instructions;
- Hand-eye coordination;
- Manual dexterity.
Possession of a valid New York State Driver’s License at the time of appointment and throughout employment.
