Senior Volkswagen Technician

Position Summary

Schumacher Automotive is seeking an Automotive Technician (Volkswagen) with at least 3+ years of experience working in an automotive dealership.

• Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.
• Completes preventive maintenance such as engine tune‑ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing, and filter replacements.
• Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Good knowledge of automobiles.
• Effective analytical and communication skills.
• Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.
• Obtain and keep manufacturer certifications up to date.
• Perform multi‑point inspections 100% of the time.
• Ability to work some scheduled Saturdays.
• Volkswagen automotive experience is required.
