The Role

To achieve its ambition of serving 80, Fellows over the next decade, Braven is expanding its employer partnerships portfolio. Braven is hiring a Director, Employer Partnerships, focused on the Business & Finance Sectors to lead corporate fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and Fellow outcomes. You will cultivate new prospective partners in the business & finance sectors and manage a portfolio of 20+ existing partners.

This role reports to the Head of Employer Partnerships & Volunteer Recruitment and is part of Braven's national External Affairs team.

What You'll Do
  • Deepening Existing Relationships (50%)
    • Manage a portfolio of high-stakes, shared-value relationships with national business & finance industry partners, driving outcomes and growth; annual goals include $3.5M+ in revenue
    • Develop and share internal memos communicating engagement plans for each partner in your portfolio, then refine and iterate
    • Recruit 700+ volunteer mentors and coaches from the business & finance sector
    • Ensure excellent customer service for executive sponsors to frontline points-of-contact
    • Use data and storytelling to build and deepen relationships
  • Partnership Cultivation (20%)
    • Research potential partners, develop cultivation plans, and build meaningful connections
    • Cultivate new partnerships, craft pitches, negotiate strategic agreements, and renew partnerships
    • Engage Braven's CEO and executive directors, providing operational support to move partnerships forward
  • Strategy & Operations (25%)
    • Collaborate across internal departments to align on shared-value relationships
    • Manage systems and infrastructure for tracking partnerships, prospect research, and national events
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Brand Awareness & Advocacy (5%)
    • Raise Braven's brand awareness through thought leadership, media, public speaking, and events
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience managing partnerships with a track record of achieving ambitious outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years as an account manager or 2+ years leading corporate partnerships for a nonprofit; passion for Braven's mission
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Systems thinker with an understanding of networks and stakeholder involvement
  • Strategic thinking, storytelling, and organizational skills to support underrepresented college students
  • Ability to plan 2-3 months out, manage timelines, and prepare others for success
  • Detail-oriented with processes to check work and data accuracy
  • Proactive problem-solver who seeks opportunities to expand impact
  • Openness to feedback and growth, and commitment to inclusive cultures
  • Alignment with Braven's core values and mission
  • Experience relevant to Braven's student Fellow population

Work Demands
  • In-person work in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, or Newark
  • Travel 6-12 times annually for team retreats, events, and meetings
  • Approximately 10-15 nights/weekends per year for Braven events
