Position:
Senior Account Manager – Benefits Solutions

The Senior Account Manager is a key member of the benefits service team, working under the guidance of senior leadership to manage day-to-day client needs and drive strategic initiatives. This role requires strong client-facing skills, the ability to prepare and deliver presentations, and expertise in marketing and presenting multiple lines of coverage from initial proposal to final placement. The Senior Account Manager ensures all client work meets compliance requirements, supports account strategy, and leads renewal and marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive problem-solving, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to cultivate strong client relationships while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary project manager for day-to-day client deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Lead client calls, delegate action items to the team, and oversee progress to meet deadlines.
  • Guide and empower junior team members to take on greater client-facing responsibilities.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable requirements, ensuring no missed deadlines or gaps in documentation.
  • Oversee open enrollment communications, reviewing deliverables before client distribution.
  • Independently manage the majority of tasks within the Client Engagement Workbook, while delegating and collaborating as needed.
  • Lead client meetings such as annual planning, renewal strategy, and post-renewal reviews.
  • Present renewal and marketing results for all lines of coverage with clarity and confidence.
  • Build a strong understanding of the benefits marketplace to apply best practices across clients.
  • Contribute to internal meetings, share insights with the broader team, and develop trust with producers and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience in commercial benefits insurance, HR, or insurance consulting.
  • In-depth understanding of benefits insurance concepts and their application to client needs.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and an existing network of carrier relationships.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours and travel as needed.
  • Active broker license in the state of residency or employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
