Compliance Specialist (Lease Up Only)

Join the Related Management Company team as a Compliance Specialist (Contract) and ensure all project operations meet federal, state, and local compliance requirements for the Willets Point development.

• Ensure compliance with affordable housing program requirements, including HPD, HDC, LIHTC, and other funding sources.
• Monitor adherence to all contractual, regulatory, and programmatic obligations for the Willets Point development.
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in housing and development regulations.
• Prepare, collect, review, and submit certifications and supporting documentation for oversight agencies.
• Maintain detailed records of all compliance activities, approvals, and correspondence.
• Work with Compliance Managers to screen, verify income, and certify residents per program guidelines.
• Perform file qualification functions of a lease‑up.
• Partner with Compliance team peers and others to meet lease‑up goals and targets.
• Primary contact with applicants; will perform tasks within Housing Connect 2.0, Affordable Rent Café, and Yardi.

Base salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year. Competitive bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package are included. This is a contract‑to‑hire position with the possibility of full‑time employment upon successful completion of the contract period.

• Availability to work in-office (5 days a week).
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Real Estate, Business, or a related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in compliance, affordable housing, or property management within a real estate development or management environment.
• Strong working knowledge of affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, HPD, HDC, etc.) and associated compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing compliance reports, audits, and regulatory filings.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with compliance tracking systems preferred.
