Business Development Specialist (Energy & Infrastructure)
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support its Energy & Infrastructure sector initiatives. This role is ideal for a marketing or BD professional who thrives in a high-performance environment and enjoys working on complex, cross-border transactional projects. This role will sit hybrid in New York City.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with attorneys and BD team members to draft and produce high-quality pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
- Develop and maintain marketing materials including practice descriptions, web content, attorney biographies, and experience databases.
- Coordinate submissions for awards, directories, and rankings relevant to sector-focused practices.
- Manage industry sponsor ships and partnerships, ensuring value and return on investment.
- Conduct research on clients, prospects, and competitors to support meetings, strategy, and cross-selling.
- Collaborate with attorneys and events teams to plan and execute client programs, seminars, and webinars; maintain key mailing lists.
- Support industry and client team initiatives aimed at expanding market presence.
- Work with marketing and communications teams on media relations, editorial projects, digital marketing, and design needs.
- Build foundational understanding of the firm’s practice areas to effectively support BD and marketing strategies.
- Assist with additional BD and marketing projects as needed.
- Understanding of law firm business operations and the needs of corporate legal clients.
- Knowledge of marketing principles and best practices in professional services.
- Awareness of trends, tools, and developments in legal marketing.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Basic understanding of relationship management and networking.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, law, or a related field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of marketing or business development experience (required).
- Experience supporting Corporate or Energy & Infrastructure groups (preferred).
