We are looking for bright and talented minds to join our growing team in New York to work with colleagues in Dublin, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Beijing.
Engagement Managers are expected to work with Alton’s senior team members to help clients solve their most complex commercial, operational, and financial challenges. They lead teams of Associates and Senior Associates and take responsibility for the day-to-day execution of client engagements, encompassing analytical work, solution‑crafting, and deliverable creation. Throughout their work, they collaborate with Alton’s leaders to apply commercial expertise and rigorous analysis to solving real‑world problems facing aviation industry players.
They take part in exciting projects and help Alton’s clients while expanding their own sector knowledge, consulting toolkit, management skills, and industry relationships. The base salary range for this role is $170,000–$180,000.
- Lead project teams to conduct market research and perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Engage with clients to gather, analyze, and interpret data in support of assessments
- Develop analytical and financial models
- Become expert on aviation industry issues across the full value chain
- Present results of studies and analyses, and draft report deliverables
- Support the professional development of associates and senior associates, and provide training
- Support the development of company intellectual property
- Support targeted business development efforts with new and existing clients
- Identify new business opportunities and offerings for the firm
- Perform other logistical, administrative, or other tasks, as directed by company management
- Strong, demonstrable interest in, and passion for, the aviation industry
- Excellent interpersonal, team management, and teambuilding skills
- Comprehension of finance fundamentals
- Strong analytical skills
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Superior organizational skills, flexibility managing multiple priorities, working to changing deadlines, and attention to detail
- Unyielding commitment to excellence, delivering the best possible outcomes for clients
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; strong foreign language capabilities are a positive
- Able to work precisely and productively under pressure and tight deadlines
For Engagement Managers a degree in a quantitative, problem solving, or critical reasoning discipline (e.g., business, finance, mathematics, engineering, statistics, etc.) from a top educational institution is preferred.
Work ExperienceEngagement managers should have at least 6–9 years of aviation/aerospace industry working experience and/or relevant consultancy work experience. Candidates will also be considered with a strong background from other industries/positions offering relevant transferable skills (e.g., investment banking, management consulting). Candidates must have experience managing analytical teams.
TravelDomestic and overseas travel may be required 25–50% on average, or more during certain periods.
