Analyst, Coverage – Private Markets Advisory
Location: New York, NY
Start: First week of January
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base + discretionary bonus (40–90% of base)
Our client, a global private markets advisory firm, is seeking an Analyst to join their Coverage team in New York. This position supports capital-raising efforts across private equity, credit, and alternative investments, partnering closely with senior officers to deepen institutional investor relationships. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, drive, polish, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The firm is far more focused on personality, soft skills, and motivation than having a perfect resume.
Responsibilities- Partner with senior coverage officers to build investor relationships across pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, and insurers
- Support capital-raising initiatives by identifying new investors and developing outreach strategies
- Contribute to pitches, meetings, and firmwide investor-facing initiatives
- Prepare and maintain tracking reports, fundraising landscapes, and pipeline updates
- Help ensure GPs are positioned effectively through briefings and meeting preparation
- Act as junior relationship manager on assigned accounts, with room to grow into account ownership
- Build credibility with internal teams, clients, and the investor community
- High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal skills, and a polished professional presence
- Entrepreneurial mindset — driven, proactive, not afraid of cold outreach
- Team-oriented, collaborative personality
- Strong conviction, curiosity, and ability to build rapport quickly
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong academic performance (3.5+ GPA preferred)
- Exposure to fundraising, investor relations, private markets, or sales is a plus
- Series SIE/63/79 preferred, not required
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage timelines in a high‑paced environment
