Position Overview

The Manager, Product Planning supports Ralph Lauren's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) model by driving product planning activities across assigned Brands and Categories within the IBP Control Tower. This role partners closely with Brand Merchandising, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Finance, and Analytics teams to translate merchandising strategies into actionable planning insights and enterprise decision-making. Through structured planning routines, analytics, and executive-ready materials, this role helps improve assortment productivity, product performance, and cross-functional alignment throughout the seasonal planning lifecycle.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support product planning activities across assigned brands and categories, ensuring seasonal planning milestones, inputs, outputs, and follow-up actions are completed on time.
  • Develop executive-ready decision materials that clearly articulate product planning choices, business impacts, key metrics, trade-offs, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Translate planning dashboards, data, and performance metrics into concise business insights for Brand Merchandising and IBP leadership.
  • Track decisions, action items, ownership, and open questions across product planning forums and key seasonal planning milestones.
  • Analyze product planning metrics including SKU productivity, Birthed CCs, Produced CCs, Commonality, adoption rate, revenue per SKU, sell-through, margin, and AUR performance.
  • Partner with Analytics and Product Planning leadership to standardize recurring reporting, planning templates, data inputs, and planning routines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support planning discussions by providing clear, data-driven recommendations and insights.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience in merchandising, product planning, merchandise planning, business planning, retail strategy, forecasting, or related analytical functions.
  • Strong understanding of seasonal merchandise planning processes, product lifecycle management, assortment planning, and retail performance metrics.
  • Ability to synthesize complex business information into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-level narratives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect data to business decisions.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience working with dashboards, reporting tools, and planning systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and planning cycles simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions without direct authority.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
