Product Manager, AI Business & Operations
Knit, an AI-native consumer research platform based in New York, NY, is hiring a Senior Product Manager to help redefine how brands understand their customers. Serving 50+ Fortune 1000 clients — including Amazon, T-Mobile, Mars, and NASCAR — Knit condenses weeks of quantitative and qualitative research into days, sometimes hours. As the company expands its product surface area rapidly, this role offers unusual leverage over what Knit becomes.
Whatthe Role Involves at Knit in New York, NY
You’ll ship in two-week cycles alongside one of the strongest engineering benches at this stage, partnering directly with the Director of Product, CTO, CEO, and PhD-level Researchers. This is a high-ownership position on a senior-heavy team where your instincts shape what gets built and your execution moves the company faster.
Success is defined by sharper product decisions, stronger execution, and measurable customer and business impact on the surface you own — including adoption rates, roadmap reliability, expansion revenue, and cross-functional coherence across Engineering, Research, and GTM.
Key Responsibilities- Own a product surface end-to-end: Drive discovery, delivery, and adoption. Write crisp specs, prioritize ruthlessly, and partner closely with engineering. Own outcomes, not outputs.
- Build direct customer intuition: Spend meaningful time with users and buyers at Fortune 1000 brands to understand how they think and work, complementing the work of PhD-level Researchers with your own firsthand understanding.
- Engage with AI-native decisions: Help shape eval strategies, quality loops, and failure-mode design. Know when to trust the model versus defer to human judgment. You don't need to have done this at scale — but you need to be genuinely curious and building fluency fast.
- Act as a force multiplier: Reduce mid-stream thrash, clarify tradeoffs, and keep Engineering, Research, and GTM aligned on what matters most.
- Contribute to company-level strategy: Offer perspective on quarterly planning, competitive positioning, and customer storytelling. The best ideas come from people closest to the product and the customer.
- 4+ years as a Product Manager at a company with a rigorous product culture.
- 0-to-1 experience: You’ve taken a product from zero to meaningful usage, ideally in a seed or Series A environment.
- Growing AI fluency: You’ve shipped AI or ML features, actively use AI tools, and have a developing viewpoint on the evolving PM role.
- Strong communication skills: Tight specs, crisp meetings, and clear alignment-building.
- Technical comfort: Ability to discuss architecture and tradeoffs with engineers without writing the code yourself.
- Founder or first-PM experience at an early-stage startup.
- Background building tools for researchers or within the market research industry.
- Salary range: $190,000 – $220,000 USD (final compensation based on level, experience, and qualifications).
- Equity options in a fast-growing, AI-native company.
- Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision, plus additional coverage options.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Hybrid work model with flexible time-off.
- Technology stipend: Company laptop and a one-time onboarding allowance.
Knit is expanding its product surface area rapidly, which means whoever owns a surface has unusual influence over the company's trajectory. You’ll work with one of the strongest engineering benches at this stage, shortening the distance between idea and production in ways most PMs haven't experienced. If you thrive in high-ownership environments and want to shape AI-native products used by the world's biggest brands, this role offers that canvas.
