Legal & Regulatory Advisory Counsel

This role oversees the Investment Committee process and Data Management framework for an asset manager. Partnering across investment, legal, finance, operations, and technology teams, the position is responsible for transaction governance, data oversight, process optimization, and risk management. The role also drives innovation through AI, automation, and analytics to improve efficiency, and decision-making. Strong judgment, experience with complex transactions and legal entity structures, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters are essential.

Strong judgment, experience with complex transactions and legal entity structures, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters are essential.

• Manage the Investment Committee process from transaction submission through review, approval, and follow-up.
• Review transactions and advise deal teams on governance requirements, approval authorities, and internal policies.
• Develop practical guidance, training materials, and governance best practices based on committee decisions and trends.

• Lead the day-to-day administration of the data governance program, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of investment, transaction, property, and entity data.
• Resolve complex issues involving ownership structures, investment vehicles, legal entities, and data classification.
• Identify enhancements to data standards, definitions, and governance frameworks as business needs evolve.
• Serve as a key escalation point for cross-functional data governance matters.

• Identify opportunities to streamline legal, governance, and investment workflows through automation, AI, analytics, and technology solutions.
• Partner with business and technology teams to implement scalable process improvements.
• Analyze recurring workflow and governance challenges and recommend enhancements to systems, controls, and procedures.

• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 4+ years of legal experience within a law firm, investment manager, private equity firm, or similar environment.
• Experience supporting complex transactions, governance processes, and cross-functional stakeholder groups.
• Background in private equity, real estate, M&A, fund formation, financing, or related transactional practices preferred.
• Interest in legal operations, data governance, and the application of AI and technology to business processes.
