About the Program and Youth Care Worker Position:Join Cayuga Centers and be the difference in a youth's life!
Cayuga Centers is looking for professional and responsible direct care team members for part-time positions in the Youth and Family Resource Center. This dynamic staff member will work in partnership with the team to provide care, support, and supervision to youth placed in the short-term program through mentorship, recreation activities, and skill development activities.
How you get to use your skills as a Youth Care Worker…- Support the daily schedules for the group of children and youth, including daily routines, academic study times, family time, and recreational activities
- Engage children and youth in planned activities to help them learn, grow, and achieve their goals
- Assist children and youth during difficult times and be a safe and supportive adult role model
- Provide and maintain supervision of youth at all times based on need
- Have fun while making a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community!
- Caring and nurturing people who can develop therapeutic relationships with children and youth
- People who are able to follow directions and routine guidelines while balancing the need for flexibility
- People with experience working with children and youth in the child welfare system preferred
- High School Diploma or GED and NYS license required
- Time on your feet for up to several hours a day
- Lifting to 50 pounds
- Ability to transport individuals and drive for up to 4 consecutive hours
- Ability to walk, run, jump, and participate in physical activities with the individuals
- Ability to stand/walk for a minimum of 6 hours on an 8 hour shift and 10 hours on a 12 hour shift.

Monday - 6:30am-9:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Tuesday - 6:30am-9:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Wednesday - 6:30am-9:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Thursday - 6:30am-9:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Friday - 6:30am-9:30am, 1:30pm-4:30pm
Saturday - Off
