Family Support Worker - Brooklyn (Spanish Required)

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone invites applicants for a full‑time Family Support Worker—Monday‑Friday, 3 days 9am‑5pm and 2 days 11am‑7pm in Brooklyn.

Position Summary
The Family Support/Family Resource Specialist engages pregnant or newly parenting caregivers in regular home visits, providing case management, advocacy, and health education to promote positive parent‑child bonding and family resilience.

• Initiate and maintain regular contact with families, primarily by traveling to their homes.
• Utilize curriculum and education materials to provide service to prenatal families and children under age 5.
• Conduct program promotion and outreach activities to increase program referrals.
• Administer standardized assessments with eligible families during home visits.
• Establish trusting relationships with families.
• Provide prenatal and health education.
• Assist in strengthening parent‑child relationships.
• Support parents in creating a safe home environment.
• Assist in managing health and human service appointments, including employment and educational goals.
• Attend required trainings and professional development workshops.
• Maintain timely reporting and case documentation in an electronic database.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High‑school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience working with at‑risk children and families in a community setting.
• Spanish language required.

• Knowledge of infant and child development.
• Infant mental health endorsement preferred.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to identify family strengths and promote self‑sufficiency.
• Ability to observe and report accurately on family functioning.
• Ability to establish trusting relationships with mothers, fathers, and extended family.
• Experience in parenting and/or child care.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and exercise judgment.
• Respect for diverse cultural, racial, sexual, or ethnic identities.

Salary Range: $33,778.63 – $44,520.00 annually.
