Position: Rosh Edah (Unit Leader)
Location: New York

Camp Ramah in the Berkshires ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), located in Wingdale, NY, is a vibrant summer camp community, where Campers in grades 3-10, grow in a beautiful and safe setting, surrounded by life‑long friends and are nurtured by spirited role models. From sports to the arts, swimming to outdoor adventure, Camp is infused with the best of the tradition and values of Conservative Judaism.

Ramah Berkshires is seeking a responsible, dynamic, experienced, organized, energetic, and camp‑loving person for a Rosh Edah (Unit Leader) Position. A Rosh Edah oversees the day‑to‑day camp experience for an Edah (Grade) of up to 70 Campers. Through organization, staff supervision & management, a Rosh Edah crafts the summer experience for Campers.

2025 Dates:
Senior Staff Training:
June 12-15
General Staff Training:
June 16-24
Camp Season:
June 25 – August 16

Salary: $3200-$5500, depending on experience. Additional compensation available for pre‑summer work. Room & Board provided while in residence at Camp.

Responsibilities Staff
  • Directly supervise and support 12 – 15 counselors
  • Manage staff performance and well‑being
  • Perform ongoing staff training in collaboration with Camper Care Team
Campers
  • Support the well‑being and quality of experience of all campers
  • Play a core role in planning & facilitating summer programming
  • Know each bunk’s daily schedule and coordinate staff support and coverage
  • Address camper behavioral and social/emotional issues with counselors
  • Report directly to Directors regarding camper behavioral and social/emotional issues
Camp Leadership
  • Serve as part of the Camp Leadership Team and act as a camp‑wide role model and leader

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with children ages 8-15
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience attending or working at a summer camp
  • Comfort in a Conservative and Egalitarian Jewish environment
