Location: New York

Counselor – Seeds of Peace Camp 2026

Support youth from around the world as they build bridges across lines of difference. As a counselor at the Seeds of Peace Camp, you will serve as a mentor and role model to supervise and engage with young people during a challenging dialogue and leadership development program. You will support campers at mealtimes and in bunks, and lead various activities (sports, arts, youth leadership, music, etc.).

All counselors are expected to commit from July 10 to August 10, 2026, which includes orientation, the session, and wrap‑up.

Camp Location
:
Devon, England (UK) – flagship program relocating in 2026.

Camp Dates
:

  • February 15 – Counselor Final date to receive applications
  • July 10 – Staff arrivals
  • July 11‑17 – Staff orientation & training
  • July 18 – Camper arrivals
  • August 8 – Camper departures
  • August 10 – Staff departures

Your mission
:

  • Create spaces where youth are welcome, seen, heard, and supported.
  • Maintain commitment to the Seeds of Peace mission of working towards a more just and inclusive world.
  • Mentor and prioritize the well‑being of youth at all times, including in bunks, at mealtimes, and in activities.
  • Plan and lead engaging programming for youth.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for youth, adhering to camp protocols and expectations.
  • Respond to youth concerns and needs.

Relevant skills & experience
:

  • Significant experience working with youth.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, creativity.
  • Belief in the brilliance, power, and potential of youth.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work with campers and staff of diverse racial, national, religious, economic, political, and gender identities.
