Role Overview
The Recreation Coordinator is a full‑time, permanent position with Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York. As part of the RTC social service department n’s Residence, you will deliver structured activities and support to some of the city’s most vulnerable youth. The role requires a 40‑hour work week with occasional evenings and weekends.
Pay RangeBase pay: $20.00 / hr – $22.50 / hr. Actual compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience.
Job SummaryThe Recreation Coordinator designs and facilitates daily and weekly engagement and activities for assigned youth. Duties include planning and executing community events, coordinating on‑grounds activities, and managing off‑grounds field trips. Success is measured by the level of productive youth participation in the provided activities.
Responsibilities- Design and lead recreational activities (sports, tournaments, clubs, field trips) during afternoon and evening sessions.
- Coordinate community events and special programs that are appropriate for youth.
- Plan and manage schedules, ensuring safe and engaging environments on and off the property.
- Maintain activity records, attendance logs, and program evaluation metrics.
- Collaborate with staff and community partners to broaden outreach and program impact.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in child welfare or congregate care is a plus.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate youth in structured activities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
