Nanny Brooklyn Family

Full Time Nanny required for a Downtown Brooklyn family starting ASAP with a toddler boy. Specific childcare duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing engaging care to their son, maintaining routines, prioritizing development and handling all child-related tidying, cooking and cleaning. You will be responsible for planning daily activities, attending classes and overall creating a fun and creative environment for their son's imagination and silliness to thrive.

The family is looking for a high energy nanny with excellent communications skills, proactive with time management and an independent decision maker. An individual who is loving, attentive and kind and who has worked with multiple toddler families will be a strong match with this family. Recent experience with toddler milestones (and beyond!) and someone who will model strong family values - kindness and friendship are important.

To be successful you will need to be a self starter, have a good sense of humor, and be comfortable building a long-lasting and supportive partnership with a family that values direct and open communication. Candidates who are confident + street smart navigating the city with a stroller is essential for this role.

Downtown Brooklyn, NYC. Fantastic location + building amenities, close proximity to public transport.

Start date:

ASAP

Days/times:
Guaranteed 40 hours/week: general work hours to land between 9:00am - 5:00pm, with ability and interest to flex as needed for earlier/later days, date nights, weekends, travel, etc.

Children:
One son (born August 2024)

Conditions:

$35 - $40 per hour
* plus unlimited OMNY card, health care stipend, sick/personal days, vacation and public holidays
* dependent on experience and other considerations. The family is open to discussions surrounding the final compensation package for their preferred candidate.

For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:

• Work authorization for the US
• A minimum of 5 years working as a nanny
• Fluency in Portuguese is nice to have; open to other languages
• A well-suited demeanor to partner with parents of young toddlers and above
• Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
• Proven tenure with multiple families including excellent references
• Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
• Ability to complete all child related duties (including, but not limited to: meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and play areas, laundry, researching and planning playdates and activities, etc)
