Prosperity Child Development
We are seeking a responsible, dependable, and confident After school Group Leader who is passionate about working with school-age children and understands the importance of safety, structure, teamwork, and leadership. We are looking for individuals who can take initiative, follow program policies, maintain proper supervision, and lead by example at all times.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must have at least 2 years of childcare experience
, which may include babysitting younger siblings, caring for family members, or working in an after school, daycare, camp, or other youth program. - Must demonstrate strong supervision skills and the ability to maintain a safe, organized environment for children.
- Must be able to follow directions, enforce program rules, and comply with all safety procedures.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and accountability.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with children, coworkers, supervisors, and families.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team while also taking responsibility for leading an assigned group of children.
- Maintain active supervision of assigned children at all times, including during homework, snack, transitions, activities, and dismissal.
- Ensure children follow program rules, expectations, and behavioral guidelines.
- Lead age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
- Create a structured, positive, and engaging environment that supports children's development.
- Follow all attendance, headcount, sign-in/sign-out, and child safety procedures.
- Communicate concerns, incidents, and behavioral issues to the appropriate supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and prepared group area.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and provide support when needed.
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior, respect, patience, and professionalism at all times.
- Follow supervisor instructions and program policies without compromising children's safety.
We are looking for leaders, not just staff members
. The ideal candidate understands that working with children requires responsibility, sound judgment, consistency, and initiative. Candidates must be capable of taking direction, making appropriate decisions within their role, holding children accountable to program expectations, and setting a positive example through their own actions.
Applicants must understand that child supervision is a priority and a shared responsibility
. Staff are expected to remain attentive, communicate with their team, and never leave children inadequately supervised or leave a coworker struggling to manage a group without appropriate support.

Experience
Required:
Minimum 2 years of childcare or youth supervision experience, including informal family childcare experience.
Education Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
