AP- After school Nanny​/Family Assistant - Manhattan

A warm family based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is seeking an experienced and engaging Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to care for their three-year-old daughter and provide some additional support around the home.

The position will run Monday through Friday from 2pm–6:30pm. The family's daughter attends school and afternoon activities until approximately 3:30pm, allowing the first part of each afternoon to be used for general household support before school pick-up. This will include laundry and ironing, alongside general tidying and organisation, occasional errands and other practical day-to-day tasks as needed.

At approximately 3:30pm, the focus will shift to the family's daughter, with the nanny responsible for collecting her from school or activities and caring for her throughout the remainder of the afternoon. The parents typically return home at around 5:30pm, with some overlap built into the schedule until 6:30pm to provide flexibility around their working days.

This is not a heavy housekeeping position, and the family employs a separate cleaning service for the regular cleaning of the home. Instead, they are looking for someone with a naturally proactive and flexible approach who is happy to pitch in and help keep things running smoothly. There is no cooking required as part of the role.

The family would also like to guarantee approximately two evenings of babysitting per month. These will be arranged in advance with the candidate and offer the family the opportunity to enjoy occasional evenings out while leaving their daughter with someone she already knows and is comfortable with. There is also the option for additional hours in the school holidays, but this isnt essential.

The family is looking for someone warm, reliable and engaging who can build a lovely relationship with their daughter and become a trusted and consistent part of their household.

• Strong professional nanny experience, ideally with preschool-aged children
• Warm, engaging and confident caring for young children
• Comfortable providing sole-charge care
• Proactive, flexible and willing to pitch in where needed
• Comfortable with laundry, ironing and general household support
• Organised and able to manage time and responsibilities independently
• Reliable and punctual with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable working collaboratively with parents
• Looking for a stable, long-term position and able to become a consistent presence within the family household

• Able to commute reliably to the Upper West Side
• Driving is not required

The family is offering $45–$50 per hour, depending on experience.
