Construction Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems; BESS

Find Talent is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – BESS to oversee field operations for large-scale Battery Energy Storage System construction projects. This role is suited for a hands‑on leader with a strong background in utility, renewable energy, or energy storage construction
. The Construction Manager will direct on‑site teams, coordinate subcontractors, manage project execution from mobilization through commissioning, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project expectations.
- Lead daily field operations across all phases of BESS construction, ensuring safe and productive site activities.
- Manage, schedule, and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment.
- Support workforce scaling by identifying and onboarding additional qualified personnel as project staffing grows.
- Enforce compliance with safety standards, environmental guidelines, and quality requirements.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align field execution with project milestones.
- Track progress against deadlines and budgets, adjusting plans as necessary to maintain schedule integrity.
- Address on‑site challenges proactively and provide effective solutions to ensure project continuity.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement among all site personnel.
- 5+ years of experience in utility‑scale construction, renewable energy, or battery energy storage projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large field teams and manage complex construction activities.
- Existing relationships with skilled crews or subcontractors (strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, civil construction methods, and energy storage technologies.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed construction plans and schedules.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Willingness to work in field‑based environments and travel as required.
- Experience managing rapid team expansion in high‑growth project settings.
- Field‑first leadership style with the ability to balance hands‑on oversight and strategic planning.
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications.
- Work involves frequent standing, walking, and navigating active construction sites.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud environments, dust, and heavy equipment is expected.
- Must follow all company safety rules, policies, and operational procedures.
