Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Work Location: Canandaigua, NY

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

Requirement: Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversee construction management of ongoing construction projects and renovations
• Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan
• Oversee and perform three-phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure compliance with the contract and specifications
• Review design, comment logging, and back-checking for Design-Build projects
• Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment
• Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and those behind schedule
• Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, and field changes
• Review and process Requests for Information (RFI), and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during the course of construction
• Support construction contract modifications

Education and Experience:

• 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience
• Experience with construction administration and capability of handling large projects
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering
• US Army Corps of Engineering or other federal project experience preferred
• Experience with Resident Management System (RMS) preferred
• Experience reading construction plans and specifications
• Good written communication and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

• Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
• Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
