Responsibilities- Site Safety Planning
- Manage updates revisions to the Corporate Health and Safety Plan
- Develop and implement project-specific safety plans for all projects aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, and trade partners to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
- Site Inspections & Training
- Conduct regular safety walkthroughs of the construction sites to ensure adherence to safety plans, identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken immediately.
- Lead weekly toolbox talks and provide ongoing safety training as required for project activities (e.g., scaffolding, crane operations, excavation).
- Documentation & Compliance
- Oversee safety permits and ensure compliance with OSHA, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Investigate accidents and near misses promptly; prepare root cause analysis and corrective action reports.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans; coordinate drills specific to site conditions.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and compliance audits for project reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety required;
First Aid/CPR certification; 62 hour SST card; NYC DOB Construction Superintendent, SSC or SSM registration, a plus. - 7 years in construction safety management, preferably on large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Procore, eBuilder or other program management software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent walking, climbing, and standing on uneven surfaces.
- Regular travel to active construction sites across the Tri-State area, as required.
