Construction Project Manager – Jacobs (Bronx, NY)

Base pay range: $ / yr – $ / yr

At Jacobs, we challenge today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission‑critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery, and cutting‑edge manufacturing. We turn abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Responsibilities

You’ll review monthly contractor invoices and provide recommendations for payment. You’ll also review contractor forecasts and monthly schedule updates, providing feedback. Best practice in reviewing change orders and documentation—including submittals, RFIs, bulletins, contract changes, and invoices—will empower you to keep projects on time, within budget, and safely.

In this role, you’ll lead the coordination of multiple construction projects in an occupied health‑care facility, reporting to the Senior Project Manager. Your oversight will extend to construction activities on a major multi‑phase hospital renovation, monitoring contractor adherence to safety plans, facility safety, and ICRA requirements. You will coordinate ongoing work with the facility engineering team daily and track progress of work against contractor schedules.

You will drive schedule, mitigate risks, and resolve site issues to keep contractors progressing to meet schedule requirements.

Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well‑being of your internal and external team and the surrounding environment. As a passionate leader, you’ll take ownership of the project and leverage your people‑management skills to safely deliver quality projects on schedule and within budget.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
  • 10–15+ years’ experience as a Construction Manager with responsibility for three (3) or more phases of construction (pre‑design, design, procurement, construction, and post‑construction)
  • Strong construction contract knowledge and ability to mitigate risk
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications with strong working knowledge of ICRA and ILSM standards, building codes, NFPA, FGI Guidelines and OSHA requirements
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, planning, delegation, coaching, and communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in health‑care construction/rehabilitation projects
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Professional Engineer (PE) credential
