Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Field Construction Coordinator to support utility power projects across Upstate New York. This role supports long-term capital programs with consistent work planned for the coming years. Initial assignments typically range from 6 to 24 months

The FCC supports field execution by coordinating construction activities, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory compliance across transmission, distribution, and substation projects

Construction Coordination & Field Support
- Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager with day-to-day field execution.
- Monitor construction progress and coordinate schedules with project leadership.
- Review contractor two-week lookahead schedules and support weekly field meetings.
- Observe on-site contractor activities and report field issues, risks, or public concerns.
- Review contractor invoices, work completion, and material deliveries for accuracy.
- Maintain daily field logs, redline markups, and construction documentation.
- Support resolution of field discrepancies with engineering and contractor teams.
- Assist with outage requests using utility systems (e.g., E-STAR / CONVEX or similar).
- Support project closeout activities, including documentation and material reconciliation.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Review and enforce contractor Health and Safety Plans.
- Conduct safety observations, toolbox talks, and routine site inspections.
- Ensure visitor orientations and escort protocols are followed.
- Report incidents, near misses, and safety violations; support corrective actions.
- Perform daily environmental checks and support environmental inspections.
- Ensure compliance with permit conditions and environmental requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Track drawing revisions and contractor redline markups.
- Verify work is performed per approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Review contractor test results, materials received, and inspection records.
- Support pre- and post-energization inspections.
- Assist with final as-built documentation and project closeout packages.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in utility field construction or operations.
- Experience supporting transmission, distribution, and/or substation projects
. - Strong understanding of utility construction practices and contractor coordination.
- Experience working in active public rights‑of‑way and live utility environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Comfortable working onsite in varied terrain and weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel within Upstate New York, including overnight stays as required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook; MS Project an asset).
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems preferred.
- Familiarity with document control platforms (e.g., Project Wise or equivalent).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass background checks per utility contractor requirements.
- OSHA 30‑Hour certification (required or must be obtained).
- First Aid / AED certification (preferred).
- Long‑term contract potential with a strong and ongoing project pipeline.
