Job Title: Construction Project Engineer
Work Location: Canandaigua, NY
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
REQUIREMENT: Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Responsibilities- Oversee construction management of ongoing construction projects and renovations
- Review contractor’s Quality Assurance Plan
- Oversee and perform three-phase inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract and specifications
- Review design, comment logging and back-checking for Design-Build projects
- Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment
- Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule
- Maintain orderly working files for correspondence, minutes of meetings and conferences, payments, updated progress schedules, monthly progress reports, punch lists, field changes
- Review and process Requests for Information (RFI), and contract documents including amendments, notices to proceed, change orders, modifications, and other locally generated documents developed during the course of construction
- Support construction contract modifications
- 7+ years of engineering and construction management experience
- Experience with construction administration and capability of handling large projects
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
- US Army Corps of Engineers or other federal project experience, preferred
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS), preferred
- Experience reading construction plans and specifications
- Good written communication and organizational skills
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Should enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
