the Opportunity

As a pivotal member of our Technical Design team, you will be the guardian of garment fit and comfort, working hand-in-hand with our design innovators. Your keen eye and technical prowess will ensure that design intent is not just met, but elevated, through meticulous adherence to our stringent fit, comfort, and quality standards. You'll be a key problem-solver, translating creative visions into tangible, perfectly fitting products that delight our customers.

This role offers the chance to mentor and guide junior talent, fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellence and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the technical design process from initial development through to final fit approval.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of garments to establish precise fit specifications.
  • Ensure product development aligns seamlessly with established fit quality, industry standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost parameters.
  • Develop comprehensive technical specifications and effectively communicate fit requirements and corrections to vendors and factories.
  • Collaborate with factories to make necessary adjustments, upholding the integrity of approved design prototypes while meticulously monitoring quality and targeted pricing.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration, always seeking new and improved ways of working.
  • Potentially guide and mentor Assistant or Associate Technical Designers, sharing your expertise and fostering their growth.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in technical design within specialized apparel categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Proven problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of maintaining composure and providing supportive guidance even in stressful situations.
  • A collaborative spirit, actively seeking solutions and embracing new methodologies.
  • Deep expertise in garment construction, fit, and quality standards.
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
  • A history of volunteer or community service, demonstrating a commitment beyond professional endeavors.
  • An approachable and empathetic demeanor, fostering positive working relationships.
  • Agility and a "goes the extra mile" attitude, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Ability to work in‑office for fit sessions, when required.
