We’re seeking a Design Manager for our men’s Design team to work on a leading active wear brand! They will work closely with Design Director, Senior Designer, and Design Assistant as well as the Technical Design, Product Development, Production, and Graphic Teams to ensure that we are bringing the best design solutions to life. This role requires effective collaboration across all departments, as well as strong communication, creativity, and excellent organizational skills.
This dynamic individual will articulate a clear POV on product while being considerate of brand history, identity, product strategy, and overall company goals. This role has 2 direct reports and will be responsible for leading, developing, and encouraging the growth and success of these individuals as well as leading all design processes for the brand.
- Drives overall vision for seasonal themes based on market research and Corporate Trend Direction
- Ownership of men’s design in active wear, and active lifestyle category
- Collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to the line, and create new concepts
- Conducting market research to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques and seeking design inspiration
- Leads the team in developing product design ideas from concept through final garment
- Develop ideation from color, fabric, fit, trim, construction, and detail
- Select fabrics and trims
- Follow brand standards and actively evolve brand taste and quality
- Ability to present seasonal product concepts to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Eye for building timeless, quality, essentials while also having a strong understanding of how to balance on trend fashion items
- Must have a refined eye and ability to focus on details
- Managing the design process from conception through to final production samples
- Ensuring the product is consistent with the business strategy
- Communicate with Shanghai sample room in the sample development process
- Ability to communicate and problem solve product development issues
Reviewing product for style and fit during fit presentations
- Fashion Design Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
- 5-10 years of related apparel design and development experience including men’s apparel
- Knowledge of fabrications, trims, and apparel construction
- Microsoft Excel experience
- High level of integrity, adaptability, strong work ethic, and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Annual starting salary of $110,000.
The disclosed salary range is commensurate with experience and does not reflect the total compensation package. Our associates have access to other valuable benefits that our Human Resources team is happy to share with candidates during the interview process.
