Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking a motivated and creative Associate Sportswear Designer to join our NYC design team. In this role, you will support the development of seasonal sportswear collections—from initial concept through prototyping and production. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Design, Merchandising, Sourcing and Production teams to ensure commercial performance, on-time delivery and consistency with our brand's aesthetic and business objectives.
What You’ll Do- Assist in creating seasonal concept decks, trend boards, color + fabric stories, and line direction.
- Translate design inspiration into CAD’s, line sheets, charts and detailed tech packs using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
- Source and evaluate sport‑appropriate fabrics, trims and construction methods (more knit focused, some wovens).
- Partner with Technical design on fit sessions, specs, and construction reviews to ensure consistent quality and brand compliance.
- Collaborate with overseas factories, cost teams and production partners to validate feasibility, timelines, and margin targets.
- Maintain and manage physical and digital archives of styles, washes, fabrications, and seasonal references.
- Support the design calendar and ensure deliverables (protos, samples, market submissions) meet scheduled deadlines.
- Assist in presenting collection line‑ups internally and externally, demonstration design intent, business rationale and brand positioning.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
- 3–5 years of professional apparel design experience (ideally in women’s or contemporary sportswear).
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction, fit fundamentals, fabrics and treatment processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop; solid skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience creating clear and detailed tech packs.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking and time‑management skills, with ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to articulate design intent and technical detail to cross‑functional partners.
- Knowledge of Simparel or PLM systems a plus.
- Work with a highly‑collaborative and experienced design team in a dynamic, global company
- Gain exposure to large‑scale production, global sourcing operations and significant brand partnerships.
- Join a creative, fast‑paced environment that emphasizes innovation, growth and delivering commercially successful product.
