Rockstar Games is seeking a passionate, bilingual Associate Creative Copywriter, ideally with a background in advertising, to produce creative content for a variety of in-game media such as radio, TV ads and shows, social media, and OOH that reflect the many distinctive voices of the characters and entities that populate the vast, thriving worlds of our games.

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan.

What We Do

• The Creative Services team at Rockstar works on projects that include a wide variety of creative assets to promote and support the brand and our games.
• We make creative assets for company branding, digital, print & package design, and advertising campaigns.
• We create promotional materials, assets for events, in-game creative, and other marketing materials to support all our titles.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts in Spanish and English for our in-game media.
• Write a variety of player and character facing, world-building creative ideas and copy that meet the needs of the brief, the voice of the speaker, and the tone of the game.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders from Writing, Design, Art, In Game Media, and more to develop a broad spectrum of creative ideas.
• Proactively review and iterate copy with senior writers, seeing it through to completion.
• Understand and match the tone of our games and American culture more broadly.
• Work alongside art directors, graphic designers and illustrators to build comprehensive in-game campaigns.
• Effectively communicate ideas and design decisions to colleagues, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional experience writing comedy in multiple forms, whether it be in advertising, TV, skits, etc.
• Solid understanding of current pop culture trends and platforms.
• A solid understanding of Rockstar as a brand and our games.
• Fluent in Spanish.

• Ability to write a high volume of copy quickly, efficiently, and on deadline, while maintaining quality and consistency.
• A highly disciplined, organized, and collaborative approach to your work.
• Ability to grasp high-level tonal concepts and materialize them into succinct copy that meets the requirements of the brief.
• Enthusiastically respond to feedback, making requested changes quickly and thoroughly.

• Advertising agency experience as a copywriter.
• Award winning advertising work.
• Other creative endeavors, i.e. stand-up/improv, illustration, animation, etc.
• A love of video games, film, and entertainment.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, Creative Writing, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
