Industrial Designer

Overview

Roll & Hill is looking for an industrial designer with 3-5 years of experience with a high degree of technical skill in product design and mechanical engineering, and an appreciation for high-quality lighting and furniture. You will work with a team of designers bringing lighting and furniture from concept to production, including sketching and working primarily in Solid Works, Creative Suite, 3D printing, and building full-scale working prototypes.

• To work with design, engineering, sourcing, production, and sales.
• Manage professional communications, projects, milestones and deadlines.
• Build prototypes using various media (foam, 3D printing, off the shelf parts, etc.).
• Create 2D technical drawings and 3D Solid Works assemblies for handoff to engineering.
• Responsible for continuous improvement at all levels of the process.
• Overseeing the highest levels of quality in all aspects of work.

• 3-5 years professional experience in product design/development.
• Experience in lighting construction and furniture fabrication is preferred.
• High level Solid Works experience required.
• High level Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign experience.
• Native in Excel, Word, Numbers, Pages, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
• Ability to both offer and accept clear feedback.
• Able to prioritize projects and tasks around fixed deadlines.
• Able to execute ongoing updates quickly and seamlessly.
• Ability to foresee problems and suggest multiple solutions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, capable of critical thinking, with an eye for details.
• Visually and verbally analyze designs and communicate their strengths and weaknesses.
• Excellent team communication skills.
• Positive and professional attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to physically handle fragile objects, including glass, marble, and ceramics with care.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and move twenty-five-pound boxes.
• You must be able to move and climb a ten-foot ladder safely to install ceiling lighting fixtures.

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 per year
