Location: New York
Assistant Designer (Nautica) role at Dreamwear
This role focuses on creating apparel designs to support seasonal and customer-driven lines. You will research trends, develop technical packages, and coordinate sample development and production.
Base pay range$50,000.00/yr - $54,000.00/yr
About DreamwearDreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company working with brands such as Laura Ashley, Danskin, Juicy Couture, Roxy, and Nicole Miller. Our Design team establishes trend, color, and style direction for seasonal and customer-driven lines and oversees sample development and production in collaboration with cross‑functional partners.
Responsibilities- Research market trends, colors, prints, and silhouettes to support senior designers.
- Send tech packs and sample requests; manage production artwork and color standards.
- Create organized technical development packages including construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, prints, and color details.
- Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
- Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color palettes, and flat sketching.
- Ensure artwork is sized correctly and choose colors with senior team.
- Create production-ready print and graphic artwork, including color and trim specifications.
- Track development progress and coordinate fabric sourcing.
- Fashion degree (or equivalent) preferred.
- Internship experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
- Positive attitude, team player, excellent communication, and follow‑up skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and attention to detail.
- Passion for fashion and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
