Location: New York
Overview
Video Editor (Volunteer) for Mentor A Promise (MAP), a nonprofit focused on youth ages 5–18 experiencing housing instability in New York City. This role supports MAP’s communications and content teams by producing engaging, high-quality video and audio content to inform, inspire, and connect our community.
Location:
Remote.
- Edit short-form vertical videos for Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts, and Tik Tok
- Produce and edit weekly podcast episodes (video and audio), ensuring pacing, visuals, and sound quality are polished
- Manage You Tube uploads via You Tube Studio, including titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and optimization
- Maintain consistent branding, audiovisual quality, and storytelling tone across all content
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, and education teams to align messaging with organizational goals
- Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
- Basic audio editing skills (Audacity, Adobe Audition, or similar)
- Experience editing for multiple formats, especially short-form and long-form podcasts
- Familiarity with You Tube Studio and publishing best practices
- Strong eye for visual storytelling, pacing, and brand tone
- Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines
- Experience in nonprofit storytelling or mission-driven content
- Understanding of social media trends and optimization strategies
- Motion graphics or animation skills (a plus but not required)
- Hands-on experience producing digital content for a mission-driven nonprofit
