Reports into:
Sr. Product Development and Production Manager
Location:
Soho, NY
- Collaborate closely with the design team to understand creative concepts and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and create detailed tech packs, starting from prototype development stage, including flat sketches, construction details, stitch guide, and finishing pages and spec pages for Wovens.
- Conduct development fittings and collaborate with the factory / sample room to make necessary adjustments and modifications to patterns as well as participate in production fittings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and address fit issues promptly.
- Provide constructive feedback to ensure garments meet brand standards for fit and comfort.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, ensuring consistency across all product lines in the development stage.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and merchandising, to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
- Collaborate with domestic and overseas vendors and manufacturers to convey technical specifications and resolve development challenges.
- Spec all samples when they arrive and record in tech packs for protos and SMS samples.
- Make and pass off domestic cut tickets - ensuring accurate patterns, fabric, and trims are used.
- Ensure samples are constructed accurately and there’s a clean hand off to production.
- Walk through styles with contractor to ensure accurate construction.
- Clearly communicate with domestic factory by providing proper sewby sample, tech pack, complete materials.
- Check overseas patterns for accuracy and ensure cutter must is attached.
- Ad Hoc projects as assigned by the Product Development and Production Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Designer with wovens.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong tailoring background required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Illustrator would be an asset.
Pay Range: 80K-90K (based on qualifications and experience)
