Senior Designer

The Senior Designer will work cross functionally with Graphic Design, Sales and Merchandising to oversee multiple design areas while facilitating the design and merchandising of apparel lines.

• Shop the market to research and identify current trends and present competitive data as it is related to their prospective area of responsibility to establish key objectives for the brand
• Ensure accuracy of tech packs and design catalog
• Manage the overall design process to ensure that the design team is successfully meeting business needs according to the design time and action calendar
• Manage and oversee the overall design process to ensure that lines are meeting the style plans, sales needs and emerging trends
• Present concept and vision in licensor and sales meetings
• Work closely with Sales and Merchandising teams to conceptualize and launch clothing lines for several levels of distribution
• Supervise and lend feedback regarding sampling communication between sample room, Design, and cross-functional teams as needed
• Recruit top talent, train and develop team members
• Oversee Fashion Show concepting, styling and go-sees
• Supervise design staff and provide direction and management throughout the design process
• Special projects as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design
• 8+ years of experience in the fashion industry (children’s wear knowledge a plus)
• Ability to travel as needed
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail
• Ability to lead and develop a team of designers at all levels
• Brand appropriate aesthetic
