Understood is a nonprofit helping millions of people navigate the realities of neurodivergence. We translate trusted knowledge about ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia into clear guidance, practical tools, and community support — so people don’t just feel informed, they feel understood.
Having a shared commitment to our values is a key factor in any hire we make. We have five core values:
- Continuously learn.
- Act with intention.
- Grow together.
Come be part of an organization with an entrepreneurial spirit that’s working toward a future where people can navigate neurodivergence with clarity, in a world that truly understands them.
To advance our mission and deepen our impact, we're hiring a senior producer, reporting to the director of content development. You're a video-forward podcast producer with demonstrated show-running experience and a strong storytelling instinct. You have a media background and can lead a podcast from pitch to publish — and just as easily produce a polished piece of standalone video content.
You have a detailed understanding of the podcast and video ecosystem, direct experience producing content that's natively distributed for both video and audio, and you know how to use data to shape show direction and grow an audience.
A creative and strategic leader, you're highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects and team members at once.
You're a self-starter who excels at working both independently and collaboratively. You have a keen eye for detail and hold yourself to a high standard for quality and brand consistency.
This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of three (3) days a week in our NYC office, with a focus on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
