Job DescriptionAs a Researcher you will aid in the production of the daily broadcast. You will work directly with the editorial teams of the 3rd Hour of TODAY and TODAY broadcast.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a short term position with an estimated duration of 12 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Job Duties:
- Gathering elements for live segments and identifying the best editorial content
- Working with an editor
- Pitch story ideas
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and on team projects
- Strong awareness of NBC News programs, talent, policies, guidelines and practices
- Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of management and talent
- Flexible, organized, self-starter, and extremely detail-oriented – able to seek out answers and resources on own
- PTO coverage for other positions as needed
- At least 2 years of news experience production and/or administrative experience
- Must have strong editorial judgment
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication or a related field
- Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and social media
- Must be ableto work in New York City
- Willing and ableto work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
- Abilityto work overtime, and weekends as needed
- Must be willing to adhere to all company workplace safety policies and protocols
Desired Characteristics:
- Proactive thinker with understanding of how to apply data
- Experience with creating research data
- Knowledge of iNews, Media Central, VPost, News connect and/or editing software
- Experience shooting with SLR cameras
- Experience working with digital editorial teams

This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
