Motion Designer

The role sits within DAZN's US creative team, producing social-first motion graphics, animation and video that bring US sports content to life. It focuses on NBA, NHL, MLB and other major US sports, turning games, players, statistics, news, highlights and cultural moments into compelling visual stories. This is a hands-on position for a designer who understands how motion captures attention quickly, particularly on social platforms, and who thrives in a fast-paced, sports-focused environment.

The designer works alongside US creative editors and copywriters as well as global creative leadership.

• Design and animate marketing campaign assets for NBA, MLB and NHL, including master marketing video assets, social cutdowns, hype reels, digital ads, OOH/stadium content and broadcast-adjacent promos.
• Translate static designs and brand guidelines into dynamic motion systems such as title cards, lower thirds, stat graphics and animated logos or badges.
• Build sizzle reels and highlight-driven content from raw footage, league-supplied assets and photography.
• Collaborate with US creative editors and copywriters, and with global creative leadership, to develop concepts from brief to final delivery.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects across leagues and teams with fast turnarounds tied to game schedules, playoffs and real-time sports moments.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with league, team and player-likeness usage guidelines and brand standards.
• Optimise and format assets across platforms including Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube, X, stadium jumbotron and CTV.
• Stay current on motion design trends within sports, entertainment and streetwear-adjacent culture.
• Support pitch and pre-sale decks with polished motion mockups when needed.
• Utilise current automation systems and appropriate AI adoption to ensure efficient and effective delivery of work.

• 3-5 years of professional motion design experience.
• A strong reel demonstrating sports or high-energy campaign work.
• Expert proficiency in After Effects.
• Solid skills in Premiere Pro and the broader Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of typography, kinetic type and brand-consistent animation systems.
• Experience working with sports footage, stat overlays and broadcast-style graphics.
• Ability to juggle multiple fast-turnaround projects tied to live sports calendars such as game days, playoffs and trade deadlines.
• Comfort taking direction from art directors while also bringing an own creative point of view.
• Strong organisational skills and file management habits, including version control, naming conventions and asset libraries.
• Early adopter of AI tools and workflows to increase creative options.

• Experience with sports, entertainment or lifestyle brand work.
• Reel featuring NBA, MLB, NHL or similar leagues and sports brands.
• Working knowledge of Cinema 4D or similar 3D tools.
