This person will help develop a cohesive identity for the larger Assemble brand while giving each vertical its own distinct voice. We're looking for someone who can follow directions and incorporate feedback while generating original ideas and taking initiative.

The role combines strategy with hands‑on execution: developing content calendars, capturing and editing photos and videos, writing copy, managing posting and community engagement, and tracking results. An immediate priority will be building momentum around the reopening of the Manhasset Movie Theater.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a coordinated social media strategy for Assemble Media, establishing distinct but connected voices for our verticals.
  • Build and maintain editorial calendars covering company news, film and television projects, book releases, theater events, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Capture content on location
  • Edit short‑form videos, graphics, captions, and stories for each platform
  • Propose content ideas and campaigns that support company priorities.
  • Track performance and provide reports with recommendations for improving engagement and audience growth.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather assets, align messaging, and confirm approvals and announcement timing.
  • Organize photos, footage, graphics, and approved copy into an accessible content library.
  • Update our website and develop additional communications materials, such as newsletters.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts from planning through content creation, publishing, and reporting.
  • A strong portfolio of content you personally created, including photography, short‑form video, graphics, and written copy.
  • Ability to understand an overarching brand and translate it into distinct identities for related businesses and initiatives.
  • A collaborative approach: comfortable following directives, incorporating feedback, pitching ideas, and taking creative ownership of approved work.
  • Strong organization and follow‑through, including managing calendars, assets, deadlines, and approvals across multiple projects.
  • Experience with social media scheduling, analytics, and design/editing tools such as Canva and relevant video‑editing software.
  • Sound judgment around confidential material, release timing, and public‑facing messaging.
  • Based in or near NYC and able to travel to Manhasset for scheduled content capture and events, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Experience in entertainment, publishing, cultural organizations, venues, or community‑focused businesses is a plus.
