Our independent short film, shooting in Brooklyn, NY, in October 2026, is seeking a senior-level Sound Designer. This is a dramatic, character-driven piece with surrealist elements that demand a nuanced and creative soundscape. The story explores themes of memory and grief through a non-linear narrative, requiring sound to be a pivotal storytelling device, guiding the audience through subjective experiences. We need someone who can craft intricate sound design, foley, and atmospherics to elevate the emotional impact.
Key responsibilities include creating all sound elements from scratch or sourcing, mixing, and mastering the final sound mix, collaborating closely with the director, and ensuring a high-quality audio experience. Candidates must have a strong portfolio demonstrating their skill in dramatic storytelling through sound. Please have your own professional sound design software (DAW) and any preferred plugins. This is approximately 3-4 weeks of work in October 2026 and November 2026.
Compensation is deferred, including points in the film. We are looking for a true artist to join our passionate team and help bring this unique vision to life.
