Responsibilities- Provide information on hours, programs, tickets, and membership to visitors either in person or over the telephone. Process new or renewal memberships as necessary.
- Stay up to date on all Wave Hill policies, programs, and events; assist visitors with purchasing tickets or registering for programs as necessary.
- Oversee the information email account, responding to visitor inquiries and forwarding to appropriate departments.
- Responsible for gathering and maintaining accurate visitation statistics for the garden on a monthly basis.
- Oversee VS supply inventory for general departmental office supplies including first aid kits for the garden. Alert the manager when supplies need to be ordered and handle after budgetary approval.
- Lend out table clothes for Wave Hill events and manage the dry cleaning schedule.
- Accept and sign for incoming package deliveries and alert the security department for delivery to recipients.
- Create internal signage as needed to enhance visitor experience and safety. Maintain the sign library for future use.
- Cover Visitor Center desk and Front Gate greeter as needed.
- Train covering greeters on reception desk protocols.
- Update the visitor services binder and FAQ factsheet to assist in providing visitor information.
- Handle additional interdepartmental work as needed during slow times.
- Additional related duties as needed.
- Demonstrated experience with customer service or hospitality.
- Minimum of 3 years administrative experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of POS/ticketing systems and constituent databases a plus; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment, but also independently as needed.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays.
Salary and Benefits
Four-day work week, 28 hours a week, Thursday through Sunday 9-5. Holidays and evenings on occasion to support garden operations.
Annual Salary is $28,800. Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance; 401k savings plan, defined benefit pension plan, life insurance, and paid time off.
The hiring salary range is dependent on the scope of work and responsibilities of the position. Salaries offered to candidates are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, skills, training and certifications, education, and other factors in addition to the scope of responsibilities of the specific position.
