We are currently seeking a Call Center Specialist to infuse new energy into our Call Center/Front Desk team. Our Gateway Plaza location in Patchogue, NY is a welcoming and warm environment, intentionally designed to promote collaboration and foster creativity.

A fast-paced, challenging, and exciting work atmosphere where everyone is focused on making you successful and happy in your role. Training will prepare you to become a great Patient Coordinator. Our Global Training program provides exposure to all departments to support your role. Some Call Center Specialists have progressed to Front Desk Team Lead, Hygiene Coordinator, Call Center Team Lead, Patient Coordinator, and even Practice Administrator roles.

We provide ample support and guidance. You start with a 15-day Global Training and an Ambassador to guide you through it all. The goal is to introduce you to BDC’s service, culture mindset, and the customized training needed to master your role as a Call Center Specialist.

Responsibilities
  • Answer calls promptly (often by the second ring) using phone scripts.
  • Accurately collect patient information and update appointment and patient files.
  • Determine whether a caller is a new or existing patient.
  • For questions about insurance, direct callers to the Insurance department for a complimentary benefits check.
  • For new patients, email NP paperwork to expedite the upcoming visit.
  • Offer the New Patient visit special and briefly explain Dental Savings Plan benefits when applicable.
  • Respond to live chats or website leads as they arise and keep up with email communications.
  • Maintain a professional presence and calmly support anxious patients during calls.
  • Schedule patients according to the scheduling templates and use our phone technology properly.
  • Be prepared to answer questions or refer to Providers and team members who can help.
  • Document emergencies clearly for Providers to review.
  • Mentor new team members when comfortable and add value to the team.
  • Encourage satisfied patients to share feedback online or refer friends to the practice.
  • Collaborate with the Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals and participate in incentive bonuses.
  • Generate and review reports as directed.
Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of experience in a dental front desk role or call center.
  • Flexibility in scheduling (office open 6 days a week, including early mornings, late evenings, some holidays; many specialists work every other Saturday).
  • Experience delivering hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced practice.
  • Attention to detail, high follow-through, a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and collaborative communication.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is welcomed.
  • Education:

    High school or equivalent required; college degree optional.
