We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York. We are a multi-specialty healthcare provider caring for our community through Primary and Specialty Medical Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology.

We currently provide care to over 7,000 patients and have an annual operating revenue of $22m.

About the Role

As a Dentist at Long Island Select Healthcare Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive dental care to our diverse patient population. Your primary responsibility will be to diagnose and treat various dental conditions, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. You will also be responsible for performing a range of dental procedures, including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments, tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient.

Additionally, you will educate patients on oral health practices and preventive care to promote long-term dental wellness. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to enhancing the overall health and confidence of our patients through improved dental aesthetics and functionality.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry or cosmetic dentistry.
  • Certification in advanced dental procedures or specialties.
Responsibilities
  • Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided. In addition, the Dentist shall complete referrals, data collections instruments and other records or paper works as shall be required from time to time by the clinic.
  • Educates individuals in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention.
  • Assists in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and the orientation of health center staff as requested.
  • Designs, develops, and implements appropriate Dental Department policies, protocols and procedures as directed by the administrative team which are in compliance with the most current accepted professional standards.
  • Participates in short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department and the agency, including development of goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for personal full compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to, personnel issues, workplace safety, public health and confidentiality. Conduct thorough examinations of patients' teeth and gums to assess their oral health.
