School-Bronx Certified Dental Assistant; Bilingual Spanish​/English

Position: School-Bronx Based Certified Dental Assistant (Bilingual Spanish/English)
Location: New York

Position Summary: The Dental Assistantwill join our School Health Department working based out of schools in the Bronx. Our School Health team provides health care and specialty services to elementary, middle school, and high school students in public schools located in the Bronx and Queens. Our Dental Assistant will build relationships with school faculty and staff.
Candidates must be willing to rotate between our different schools to provide services if needed in the Bronx. Candidate must be able to commit to working 32 hours a week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Must possess Dental Assistant Certification
• 0-1 years of related experience in a dental setting.
• Must have flexible schedule.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• Previous experience working in a school-based setting, a plus.

Key Duties:

• Assists the Dentist and Dental Hygienist in route procedures.
• Takes digital X-rays and impressions.
• Orders dental supplies and maintains inventory.
• Sterilizes all equipment.
• Schedules appointments and maintains reception area as required.
• Distributes patient educational materials as needed.
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals.
