About Eight Sleep
Eight Sleep is the world’s first sleep fitness company. Our mission is to fuel human potential through optimal sleep. We use innovative technology, detailed design, and proven science and data to personalize and improve each night for everybody—changing the way people sleep forever and for the better.
With our flagship product, the Pod, we are addressing critical sleep issues such as temperature regulation, bed elevation, snoring reduction, and the wake‑up experience. Hundreds of thousands of customers around the world sleep better every night thanks to the Pod.
But we’re just getting started. We’re committed to developing more groundbreaking products to tackle additional sleep problems, changing the role sleep plays in our lives forever. We’re excited about the journey ahead and the impact we can make as we continue to innovate and expand our offerings to fulfill our mission.
We are backed by leading Silicon Valley investors like YC Combinator, Founders Fund, Valor, and Khosla Ventures, and we have been recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in 2018, 2022, and 2023. The Pod was also recognized two years in a row by TIME’s “Best Inventions of the Year.” We currently sell the Pod in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia.
Beforeyou apply
Eight Sleep is an intense environment: we’re demanding and ambitious, which means we ask a lot of ourselves and one another. This means fantastic learning, achievements, and career growth, but it also requires a significant commitment. Our dedication, drive, and intensity rivals those of Olympic athletes. At Eight Sleep, we have Kobe Bryant’s mamba mentality - we always aim to be at the best 1% of what we do.
If you’re looking for a 9‑5, this is not for you. Our employees report working up to 60 hours per week. If you want to be challenged and pushed harder than ever before, we invite you to apply.
We’re looking for a product designer who thinks beyond aesthetics. Someone who is as passionate about crafting seamless user experiences as they are about beautiful interfaces. You care deeply about building, shipping, and iterating on real products, not just making polished mockups that never see the light of day.
As a Product Designer on our web team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the Eight Sleep website, driving the design of engaging, intuitive, and seamless experiences that help users discover and purchase a Pod. You’ll collaborate closely with the Growth, Brand & Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to craft high‑quality, data‑driven designs that balance aesthetics with usability.
We don’t believe in rigid design silos. At many companies, product design is split into UX, UI, and other sub‑disciplines. Here, it’s all in one. You should be an exceptional generalist who can move fluidly between information architecture, visual design, and interaction patterns, with an eye for both pixel perfection and real‑world usability. As a key member of our small but growing design team, you’ll have significant ownership over the website experience, ensuring that users are equipped with the resources they need to make informed purchase decisions.
Howyou’ll contribute
- Design: You’ll sit at the intersection of Growth and Product, leading the creation of our e‑commerce experience to drive brand positioning and revenue growth. Your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of product design, from information architecture and low‑fidelity wireframes to high‑fidelity mockups, and everything in‑between.
- Validate:You’ll support our customer discovery team in conducting usability studies and user interviews to inform design work. You’ll use data to inform the success or failure of the design.
- Iterate: You’ll combine qualitative and quantitative customer insights to make design decisions that improve our web experience for our members, and move the needle on conversion and retention. We are highly data‑informed, so iterating in response to metrics is essential.
